Well done Alby. Murray Weideman is correct. I thought I might catch you out with the October date in 1990. His other "sport" was wrestling. Not the real type that we see at the Olympics, but that micky-mouse variety that Jack Little would host every Sunday at noon on Channel Nine.
It was the entire Essendon team that kicked five goals in the 1990 Grand Final. It was all they could muster...what a weak effort!!
OK, back to swimming. Who was the first man to break 50 seconds for the 100 metres freestyle? What country did he represent? What year did he do it? Where did he do it? and what was his actual time?
Also, Norman May's excited call of "GOLD, GOLD TO AUSTRALIA, GOLD, GOLD" occurred at which Olympics? In which event? and exactly who was he cheering for?
