Saturday 10th May

Today is my first report on our new web site created by Jonno Hayward.

Thanks to Harry for naming our swim group.

Our club training has just moved back to the Brighton Baths (check training times) for the next six months. We have a new swimmer from Brisbane, John Jameson, who has just completed his eight hour swim with the Black Ice team at Black Rock beach on Anzac Day.

He passed with flying colours and he is ready to swim the English Channel in late August. Hopefully, I will be there with him for his attempt. John is training hard and is raising money for Cystic Fibrosis.

Unfortunately for John, he has only been granted an associate membership to Black Ice because he hasn't completed our one hour swim at 10 degrees or less at the Brighton Baths. Come down to Melbourne soon ,John (water temperature is 13 degrees now on 10-05-08).

Hopefully, I can add some photos soon when somebody can teach me how to use the computer. Black Ice members were issued with there swim kits today and I'm hoping Jonno can display these items and prices on the site soon.

Remember our club rules - NO WETSUITS.

- Would you climb Mount Everest in a helicopter?
- Ride the Tour De France on a motorbike?
- Sail the world in a motorboat;
- Or run a marathon in your car??

Of course not.

Albys first cold water tip:

Just before you enter the cold water, think about your marriage and tell me which one is colder !!!
